Firstly, thanks for being here.
Properly. This is my first ever newsletter, so it means a lot you’re on this list.
It feels right that the first one is about “Better Place”, out this Wednesday, January 7th.
Just one day away now.
This music feels like it’s been waiting for me for a while.
Most of last year was spent sharing little fragments — 24-second clips of a song I wasn’t totally sure what to do with yet. I just didn’t want to wait anymore (which, if you know my career, is a first 😀). The response to those early clips gave me the confidence to keep going, finish the songs quietly and properly, and finally get them out of my phone and into the world.
Music looks very different for me than it used to now.
I’m not managed, I’m not signed, and I had to relearn how to move at my own pace again. It’s taken time, but it felt important to do it honestly, without rushing or forcing anything.
The new year feels like the right moment to begin again.
Better Place has already changed me. It’s shifted how I think about writing, about making music, and about myself. The song has been produced by Mike Hall from Clean Cut Kid — whose music I’ve loved for years, especially from my London days. He’s also just a great bloke, and pretty much straight away I knew he was the right person to make this music with. I’ve also been lucky enough to work with Tom Longworth on the mix and Matt Colton on the master, which still feels mad to write down.
Honestly, this is the best music I’ve ever made, and I really, really believe in this song. Not as a product — but as a feeling.
It feels like it’s got a bit of a life of its own now.
It helped me through a tough stretch, and I’m just kind of watching it grow.
There’s so much music out there that never really finds its way to people. So, if Better Place connects with you, a save, a playlist add, or a share — online or in real life — genuinely helps it find a place to land.
I didn’t start writing this music with any plan at all. I just needed it.
Somewhere along the way, it reminded me who I am.
That’s all this is.
Music that made me feel something.
I hope it makes you feel something, too.

A quick December moment…
Last month, I had an idea that felt slightly ridiculous
— driving around and singing my song on people’s sofas.
Somehow, it turned into nine little episodes across the North West — Blackpool, Manchester, Leeds, Lancaster, Warrington, Middleton and Lytham.
What started as “content” turned into something else.
Real conversations. Old stories. New connections.
I’d forgotten how much I missed that feeling — being part of a community of actual people, not just screens. December quietly gave me that back.
If you fancy watching the house tour episodes, they’re here:
And if you let me into your home, thanks so much. It means a lot.
Looking ahead, 2026 feels good. There’s more music ready, and more still forming. I’m genuinely excited that this song is finally about to be out in the world — and really grateful you’re here at the start of it.
One last thing — to go alongside Better Place, I’ve made a small run of merch while the song’s having its moment. Nothing loud. Just things I like.
There is also a mug. I apologise slightly.
